Back in February, Jenna & I went to see new stars The Vaccines at Kings College Student Union. They were brilliant, of course, but we were also impressed (expressed by the jig we did) with their support act, 'Dignan Porch'. They're a band from down the road (Tooting, South London) and comprising of 4 cool cats called Joe Walsh, Sam Walsh, Phillipa Bloomfield and Ben Goodwin. Their sound is a combination of laid back drum beats, fuzzy bass lines, catchy riffs and mellow voice. It reminds me slightly of a modern Velvet Underground with hints of Nirvana and 60s rock n roll, but let's not go about comparing Dignan Porch to anyone, they are a fresh and exciting take on the music of our generation.
